| Might actually be a new record here for me. But, I actually got people (not very many) saying I should update. Most likely because they wanted something to read at work when there aren't fresh forum posts or something.
I mean, that's why I'd read blogs at least.
Anyway, what's been up with me? Yeah. Look at that nice optimistic blog post from *cough*May*cough*. See how I was all set to jump into a few things like statics and all?
Guess what all fell apart like, the week after that? Lets just say I had lots of time to catch up on things like subs, skills, merits, farming, etc. Well, until recently. I got DNC to 37. I farmed for like a week/10 days almost constantly (well, within my playtime) to get a Haub+1. I merited quite a bit (up to 344 total atm, still not nearly capped though).
A few weeks ago, people came back n' stuff, so you know all the stuff I was talking about then? In a strange time warp type of thing, most of it is actually just getting on track now.
For instance, new Omega focused Limbus group/static type thing. We did our first Omega last Wednesday to great success (10 minutes, 13 people).
I managed to snag a NIN upgrade item off a gunpod too b>.>b Certainly can be lower manned or farmed for chips more, etc, but it was our first time out in a while.
I've also started back up in Nyzul, which has been decent. My disc is now at 61, and we've gotten a few boots n' such. Nothing for me...yet.
WAR static has finally started again. This after being "not happening" due to people taking breaks, moving, etc, me planning on static'ing in another group that I waited and waited for until the original group actually reformed....yeah...but, back to swinging the GAxe.
 Got up to 57 last week, so buy my Luisant.
My current plan is to focus on a GAxe build for 75, though that means leveling SAM to sub. Ugh.
Dynamis is still going pretty strong. We doubled our LS possession of Duelist's Tabards the other week.
Plus one that dropped on the initial pull. There were happy people that night.
I also recently completed my BST set.
Not that I've really played BST much since BRD n' NIN...but I was waiting for them for quite some time. Of course, now that I got them, we'll probably get a pair every Xarc (got another last night). At least there are people who want them though.
To break format a little, some brief overviews of where I'm at on some other jobs >.>

Some of my NIN gear sets:
I neglected to SS my Ninjitsu sets, for landing and for Elemental damage. Oh well. You might note that I don't have a NIN/DRK or other higher end tanking set. If I actually had call to use one, I might. However, given the number of tanks I seem to hang out with...
TP set I swap Haub+1 in for meat unless stuff is really low evasion.
My evasion set obviously needs moar Boxer's Mantle, which is one of the next things I plan to get. However, buying coins a few weeks before they drop Limbus costs to 15k seems a bit hasty. It's not as though I solo on NIN/DNC on a daily basis, and my existing set works well for most things I've tried.
I really should get a different offhand Katana too, since the Perdu is rather unappealing when you're holding TP as /DNC.
Waiting on Koga Tekko for WS, though even then I'm not sure, since DEX does factor into Jin well, particularly with Mithra base. Eh, definitely could use some tweaking, but works well enough as it is. There are certainly more things I can get overall gear-wise.
Merits, I'm at 8 Katana, 5 STR, 4 Crits Given, 4 Crits Taken, 5 Subtle Blow, 5 Ninja Tool Expertise, 3/5 Raiton Effect, and 4/5 Raiton San, far as things particularly relevant to NIN go. Capped out Throwing and H2H besides the typical stuff...Parrying is only barely past 200 though ; ;
I still quite enjoy NIN, though I don't play it all the time really. Unlike BST though, it doesn't feel like people are doing me a favor when I bring it out, since (if parses are to be believed) I more than hold my own.
Speaking of jobs I rarely play though...

With BLM, and with most mages, I tweak stuff a lot...but these are my main sets I remembered to SS at least...
Should be Goliard Clogs on my INT setup too...grr...
Mostly a job I leveled for LS event use anyway, I really don't play BLM much outside of when people specifically ask for it. Hence why I don't have stuff like JSE legs/head for Enfeebles and why I sold off my Sorcerer's Ring a while ago (annoying to activate anyway).
Despite that, I did go and max out my Ice and Thunder potency categories (finished them only pretty recently). Have max Enfeebling and Elemental as well, 8 MP, etc. Only have unlocked Freeze II and Burst II though in Cat II, and still never bought Flood or Tornado for the first AM series. My only 75 I'm "missing" unmerited spells on (though I wouldn't say I miss those spells, heh).
I also took some RDM gear pics, though it's woefully incomplete, plus I tweak stuff on it per event...I loathe to merit on RDM, but it doesn't mean I dislike the job as a whole...
Completely left out melee sets, resting set, in between sets, etc etc.
Heck, I use Dusk hands/feet on Stun too and didn't mention that. Ugh. It'd take a long time to document all my RDM crap though.
Few points I guess. Yes, my Refresh/Haste thing is not as Fast Cast full as it could be. I don't do a double swap due to the targeting thing, but I had been using my AF+1 for a little bit. What I found is that I was often left not swapping back to my Idle gear though, due to hitting too many macros too fast. So I wound up just settling on Conserve MP and Auto Refresh on Refresh/Haste n' the like. The point being to keep the Duelist's in as much as I can.
My MND setup is not as extreme as they come, but I'm not sure how much use that past a certain point anyway. My inventory is crunched enough, so I use more multipurpose pieces, don't bother with MND earrings, etc.
Enhancing set nets me 301 skill, enough to break the last reasonable tier of Phalanx II. I have that merited to level 5 now, Slow II at 3, Paralyze II at level 2. Still have my archaic 4 Convert/3 Ice/3 Wind setup though, which would better be converted over to 5 Convert/5 Ice most likely. As I mentioned with BLM, 8 MP, 8 Enf/Ele as well. RDM is my only job currrently that's actually "complete" in terms of merits, despite the eventual changing of them.
BRD I have Cat 1 capped out, though I may refocus it. 5 Minuet, 3 Madrigal, 2 Lullaby, and the two JAs at level one for Cat II. BST is...um, untouched for job specific >____>;
And to end, some stupidity and humor.
A few weeks ago, some friends were doing UFOs, and invited me along. I got an organ, so, having love for my NIN as I do, I decided to get a Breeze Gorget. Spent several more hours getting organs for that from extraordinarily stingy mobs. But, there I was, staying up later than usual, with all my organs...when...I promtly traded them to the wrong NPC.
There was weeping and gnashing of teeth. But, I got another organ the next day n' got my gorget >_>
And this, on the way to XP the other day, with Heavensent dual boxing Starrdust because she was at some party for work.

| So almost two months...surely, enough time to amass at least a few things of interest to post.
Mostly things sorta slowed down really. Had a few people take breaks for various reasons, which put a number of things on hold. Nice as it is to be in a small, informal shell...if even a few people aren't there, there's quite the impact.
Prior to that, a new XP static started up, this time I'm doing WAR. Picked up on that at 37, where I left BLU.
This was a little later on. We've not really pushed to get 6 every time, since we haven't really found the need... but this was before people went on haitus.
After that was shelved for a little, I wound up meriting a bit. Kinda went into a number of things. Few more BLM potencies, though still not done. Have BRD cat. 1 at least at 10/10, though it's 2 Lullaby, 3 Madrigal, 5 Minuet. Probably going to go back and do 5 Madrigal at some point. Nice for Colibri. NIN I finished Cat. 2 for.
Not the most impressive category I guess, but heck, why not >_> I've actually been able to play NIN for group stuff lately outside of merit, which has been nice. Save some tools potentially, and have the ability to weaken mobs to Earth. Raiton: San is also halfway decent for Nyzul on Flans and Slimes and such. Good half a WS or so worth of damage, has turned a mob my way more than once. 'sides, it's something to mess with.
Still need to finish Subtle Blow and Raiton Effect for NIN cat. 1.
Finally got around to upgrading my inventory to 70 slots...been working on better macros as well.
In addition to meriting, I started soloing DNC for subbing to NIN particularly. Disgustingly overpowered soloing job early on.
It's currently parked at 22, since other stuff picked back up. Really do need to get that up though, since it works so well as a NIN sub, and I do like messing around on that job.
While spotty, we did get some Nyzul n' such in. Stuff other people got anyway:
We also camped Ungur and got Bonedady a boomerang. Haven't yet gone back for mine, but no rush.
Sure beats out the camping of him I did way back when, with an alliance and all. Kind of easier this way, and no fussing over who gets what.

Also got Ninja Tekko+1 I think since I updated last. Plus I have the items to upgrade the body, just not wanting to buy many coins since I'm not exactly rolling in gil (crosses fingers for lottery).
Now we see if Dynamis wants me to sit at 4/5 on yet another set of Relic gear. 5/5 on RDM, 4/5 on NIN, BST, BRD, and... DRK...which is 37. 2/5 BLM rounding out my collection.
Thus far, NIN has just come right after another, and people insist I lot even when I offer to pass. Little different than RDM, unless I wind up waiting two years for tekko like I did for hat n' body for that.

I've now started to use day and night sets thanks to Koga feet. Maybe it'll help get me closer to Bonedady's output on NIN...best I can ever seem to do is nip at his heels on a parse. At least I have fun trying though.
More recently, people have come back from moving, "quitting", etc. Not all, but most...
So I'm back to WAR, which is fun. Kind of strange, but jobs I'm playing now are ones I figured I never would get into. Basically dual tanking/DD'ing with GAxe WARs because both Damen and I have Axe capped already from BST. Hit 51, and hence, I'm now working on AF.
Gotta say, the WAR AF storyline was, of the ones I've seen, pretty meh. I suppose it suits the set of armor in that way.
I did AF3 tonight, finally finding a reason to pull RDM/BLU out and give that a shot.
I suppose I was expecting it to be harder...never cast a single cure even. Or perhaps that's a testament to the combo working well. Never done the fight before, so I have no basis of comparison.
But, oh well
I, well, I should say, my mannequin, was very happy to get it. Finally, something new to adorn my mog house with.

| Well, after a few updates in rapid succession...back to waiting longer it would seem.
For general upgrades n' such, been doing alright, though nothing particularly rare.
Some push to merit, though it's been fun to play with NIN there anyway, so that helped. Otherwise mostly random BRD stuff I guess. Regular Assault static has stopped now, since we're all Captain n' all anyway. Thankfully the guys did a last night of point farming so I could get my gomlek.
As it would figure, I spent ancient coins on a Musical Earring, and a couple weeks later am sitting on BRD and NIN sets. Not that I could go buy coins, but since I'm doing Limbus anyway...
Bard's cuffs, meh, stay in the mog house, but nobody else seemed to want them. 4/5 on the set now, missing the boots. It was a fun Dynamis Bastok, full clear with 15 minutes or so to spare.
MP merits helped push me up to a 1.1k+ Convert ratio. Finally. This SS was actually at 7/8 (Mithkabob active, not MP food).
Main thing, well, really the only thing I'm still looking at getting is an Intensifying Cape, as I'm using a Merciful Cape right now. It'd give me the extra HP to cover things on /BLM and /WHM, and a little more MP to boot. Lieutenant's Cape has crossed my mind as well. Could go get either whenever, but meh, I mainly just wanted to get over the 1.1k hump.
I also wound up buying a Fire Bomblet and Hedgehog Bomb back to back...that hurt the ol' wallet.
In other "upgrades", I got BLU to 37 with a subjob/next static job leveling thing with LS people.
I then deleveled to 36 getting Pinecone Bomb, and back to 37, capped Blue Magic, and now I'm done with it unless I decide to level it to 75. Yay >_> One more down, several more to go...
Nyzul has been a mite stingy as of late. Got a few pieces since the last update, but not many. Askar and Denali bodies, Goliard clogs. That's. About. It. I didn't get any of them at any rate.
We also did a Proto-Omega as HnC, went very well considering.
Some had never done the fight, most of us hadn't done it in well over a year. Got hands n' head, well, others did, not me. But I did complete the BRD upgrade set thanks to a gunpod.
Finally beat Dynamis-Quifim too.
Not that it's particularly hard, but for some reason we ran into bad luck the previous couple attempts. So, Tavnazia remains I suppose. Though as we already had to turn people away due to the 36 person max on regular CoP areas, I doubt we'll do Tavnazia as a regular run anyway.
Decent drops, passed on a Duelist's Belt, don't want to be greedy. Plus my inventory is very full as-is, I should probably do the latest gobbie bag expansions. 
Hopefully some good stuff in the patch tomorrow.

| Last Saturday was a pretty dry day for NIN invites. Most of the day anyway. So I broke my Trial Katana. Not so much because it's something I figured would be useful, but more because it'd be one of those things that'd just be there...haunting me...
I set out to solo the crab with the dump-truck-like left hook. RDM/BST. That worked well enough.
Made it through a couple mischarms without trouble even. Positioning was a little tricky, and people were killing Toramas as well which gave me a little bit of a random playground.
Unfortunately, at around 14%, I got another mischarm without much room. Plus aggro from my prior pet...somehow...
Hint: don't RR until he's well out of range. For some reason the people trying to pop Ose pulled him, but died/warped/something soon after.
Half of me was a mite embarrassed to go back in there and try again. The other half argued that it would be more efficient to just get someone to help. So I did. Damen on NIN/DNC and me on BRD destroyed him handily.
Damen felt compelled to go play with a UFO afterwards, so I wound up going back out there to help him with what up until I arrived was a stalemate.
Wasn't very hard with two, and of course it didn't drop anything. Yet another thing NIN/DNC is great for. Stupid subjob I need to level ::grumblegrumble::
Did wind up meriting some Saturday and then Sunday as well. Doing alright I guess, tend to parse pretty competitively against most DDs I've seen.
Still a work in progress.
Nyzul was meh. Nothing from floor 80 Hydra, smooth as it went. Then a timed-out run from a few unlucky floors. Then a lovely attempt at floor 20 that ended in failure -_-
Yep, Soulflayer boss. Then Fafnir. Who kindly decided to wing 7 times in a row. Meh, that's Nyzul for ya.
Limbus was uneventful, but smooth as...something...very smooth...it's late >_>;

Unfortunately, was a pretty meh run otherwise with only two AF2 (RNG and MNK at that) along with a couple HQ money. But still, hadn't done DL in a while and got a bunch of the newer folks the title and experience and all. So it was fun anyway.

| So my original thought for getting through 72 NIN was to take my Senju up to Sky on NIN/BST and have some tranquil solo XP while simultaneously burning off some WS points. After all, that's how I broke my Pick of Trials and XP'ed 72 BST/NIN.
I did try this.
It was slow as crap. Quite safe, mind you, but maybe 3-3.5k/hr and I think I totaled around 30 of 500 WS points before getting sick of it.
So I was around 10k into 72 going into Saturday. One very long party later, I was around 12k to 74. Another party later, I was a good bit into 74.
Sunday rolled around, picked up Ninja Tekko +1, and after a...questionable invite, I was sitting looking at the proposed camp when I got an error with FFXI. Incidentally, the leader got in a bit of a tiff when the RDM and I questioned his choice of a camp...so the party broke and/or we left. I dunno, I hit my "OK, close the program" button. Around 5 minutes later I got a great TP burn party that took me right through 75.
(yet while still 74...)

So now my NIN sucks less. Monday, being the holiday it was, afforded me the time to finish getting WS points off my Senju by SC'ing with myself. Still took a few hours. Though, ya can't -really- complain about that. In the span of one king camp or so, I "obtained" one of the finer endgame katanas. Plus my Perdu Blade, which was "free" too (if you discount the opportunity cost of 48 gold coins).
Still plenty to do, and it's a new thing to play anyway. Other than doing a couple Nyzul runs on it though, I've basically been on BRD and a little RDM the rest of the week. Oh, and some DNC, but that's still not even 10.
Next up...WAR it looks like, for a static again. Damen and I probably will be dual tanking via damage with WAR/NIN GAxe builds. That should be...fun...especially since our setup backline should be WHM BRD BRD b>.>b
Nyzul saw fit to provide some Rare/EX for that static.
Which sorta made up for rather meh drops otherwise. Just Denali hands.
My other Assault static though went pretty well this week.
Well, past three weeks really. Two weeks ago, beat T10 Khimeria and Cerb. What we wound up doing for our 5 man setup was basically a low man wyrm deal. Aegis PLD, RDM BRD SMN BLM. Managed to take down those two with that. Khim was painful as he cannot be stunned, period, and does his full move list -_-
Cerb really wasn't too bad, but we didn't get elementals until right at the end. Handled them really well, then our RDM was drawn in as he was casting...and aggroed even more, and ran them towards us, etc. Very messy right at the end, but we pulled it through.
Still not bad, I think around 1/3 on both of those.
Last week we did Dracula.
He was a pushover. 1/1. Then again, he never pulled out a doppleganger.
Then zee toilet king. Our problem with him wound up being that we either had a stellar defense with Damen on SMN, or enough damage to kill him in the time limit with him on RNG. Cackle is nasty if you get Cackle -> Thunder IV on the tank for nearly 1600 damage (despite Aegis, shell, etc). Dream Shroud preempts the MDB down part of Cackle, so that's great. Timed out first attempt.
RNG, however, tears him up and doesn't get intimidated on shots. But we got that Cackle TIV combo. Ow.
This week we managed to get a 6th to come, and tore him apart with PLD RDM BRD SMN RNG RNG.
Finished up Captain rank for Bonedady, Damen, Morpheu and myself. Fun fun.
The final mission...give Naja a massage. Hot, Mithra on Mithra action in my case.
Which unfortunately consisted of a BLACK SCREEN. >_<
Oh well.
No more paying for Runic Portals like a chump. Plus free remnants access, and ability to store another assault tag.
Well, that's about it.
